kWh: the unit you pay for
Electricity is measured in kilowatt-hours. A fridge running all day may use 1 to 2 kWh; an air conditioner can use 1 kWh in an hour. The meter adds these up for each flat.
To know exactly how much light each household uses, you need a meter for each one. A prepaid meter counts every kilowatt-hour (kWh) and shows the balance on its screen.

With a postpaid or shared meter, you only see the total at month end. With a prepaid meter, tenants see their units going down and naturally use power more carefully.
On their phone, tenants see how many kWh they used this month, their past recharges and their latest token.
Tenants log in with their phone number, pick an amount and pay by card or bank transfer. The 20-digit token appears on screen and by SMS, and they type it into the meter's keypad.
Each payment is split automatically. The landlord's share goes straight to their bank account, usually the next working day. Geomarins never holds the landlord's money.
