Prepaid meters

Prepaid meters for every flat in Nigeria

One DisCo meter for a whole building means one bill and endless arguments. A prepaid meter in each flat means every tenant pays only for the electricity they use, before they use it.

What you get

Geomarins Meter supplies single-phase STS prepaid meters and the online system to run them.

  • A prepaid STS meter for each flat
  • Online token sales for tenants, by card or transfer
  • Your share paid straight to your bank
  • A simple dashboard to see who recharged and how much

Who it is for

Landlords with flats, face-me-I-face-you buildings, mini flats, shops in a plaza, hostels and estates anywhere in Nigeria.

How much it costs

You buy the meters once. Tenants pay for their own electricity, plus a small service charge on each recharge. You set nothing up yourself: we register your building, flats and meters for you.

Questions

Is this the same as a DisCo prepaid meter (MAP meter)?

No. The DisCo meter stays on the building. Our meters are meters behind it, one per flat, so you can share the building's electricity fairly among tenants.

How do tenants buy electricity?

Tenants log in with their phone number, pick an amount and pay by card or bank transfer. The 20-digit token appears on screen and by SMS, and they type it into the meter's keypad.

How does the landlord get paid?

Each payment is split automatically. The landlord's share goes straight to their bank account, usually the next working day. Geomarins never holds the landlord's money.
